On Wednesday, November 5, 2025 Southern Door and Nasewaupee fire departments joined the Brussels-Union-Gardner Fire Department in issuing a burn ban until further notice due to current conditions. Since BUG Fire issued their burn ban on Tuesday, the fire danger level has shifted from “moderate” to “high.” Currently, 56 of the state’s 72 counties including Brown, Door, Kewaunee and Manitowoc counties are listed at the “high” level. As a result, all current burn permits are suspended, and no new permits will be issued until further notice.
