Welcome to Town of Forestville
The Town of Forestville, population of 1057, is a small hamlet that is located in southern Door County, Wisconsin. Originally established in 1858 as the Town of Maplewood, they later changed their boundaries, splitting off the Village of Forestville and taking the name of Town of Forestville. The unincorporated Maplewood now lies within the Town of Forestville at the intersection of County H and State Highway 42. This municipality is within the Southern Door School District and Southern Door Fire Department.
A large farming community, this township boasts a number of attractions, such as the Forestville Dam Park, located on the 13 acre Mill Pond that becomes the Ahnapee River; the Ahnapee State Trail, whose 30-mile length connects to Sturgeon Bay, Forestville, Algoma & Casco and is open for hiking, biking, running, horse-back riding, cross-country skiing & snowmobiling and was formerly the Ahnapee & Western Railway line; and the expansive Robert Baumann Memorial Ball Park in Maplewood, next to the Forestville Town Hall.
